Do you think Rhossili Bay is the Best Beach in Britain? We do! Lots of you obviously agree as it has been voted The Best Beach once again, and 9th in the World! http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/TravelersChoice-Beaches
We are incredibly lucky to be located just one mile from Rhossili Bay. In fact we have easier access to the beach, and with plenty of car parking at Hillend Caravan Park, there is nothing stopping you seeing it for yourself. You can also walk to Rhossili across the beach, and back across Rhossili Down (or vice versa) to enjoy spectacular panoramic views along your chosen route.
The beach is over 4 miles of golden sand and is a haven for pet owners and horse riders as they are welcome all year round. Surfers love the vast expanse of beach and there are plenty of surf boards and wetsuits to hire just across the road from us in the famous Pj’s surf shop
If you want to bring your horse on holiday, there are several stables in the area with plenty of off-road horse riding including the famous beach. Anna also has a very well known Shetland pony stud with a few spare stables, and just up the road is a BHS livery yard that also accepts your equine friends for holidays!
If you are planning your stay with us, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Guests will find a wealth of information available to them on arrival, including maps for walking or riding, tide times and other useful local knowledge. Many activities are available locally, for all age groups and abilities, most can be found listed on our website here
We also are pleased we have been voted 5th in the Best Pub in Wales Awards – this was voted by the public with over 2,500 votes on the short listed 75 pubs we were pleased to be in the top 10. Thank you to everyone who voted and hopefully next year we can move up the list!
March on into Spring, hibernation is over!
As our Chef so well put, Spring is in the air and we want to celebrate by offering you our fabulous April deals! Hibernation is over, the first signs of spring are starting to show so dust off your suitcases and come and visit Gower at it’s best! The daffodils are awakening and the lambs are playing in the fields, to us there is no better time to visit Gower. So why not take advantage of our 3 nights for the price of 2 offer?
Gower has a tremendous amount to offer from its rugged coastline, miles of sandy beaches, high lime stone cliffs and secluded coves. The famous ‘Worms Head’ jutting out into the Bristol Channel offering the most spectacular sunset locations in the UK. Apart from the astonishing coastline Gower also has beautiful woodlands and vast tracts of moorland which offers natural habitat to diverse flora and fauna. Gower offers a wealth of walks for both the amble strollers to the more avid ramblers. The beaches offer a wealth of water sports with surfing being the most popular. Ripnrock provides a range of activities – but these are not for the faint hearted!
In 1956, Gower became the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For those interested in history, Gower has plenty to offer with numerous castles, churches, landmarks and caves. Most famously, In 1823 Paviland cave yielded an Upper Paleolithic-era human male skeleton which was the first human fossil to be found anywhere in the world. Llangennith hosts the largest Church in Gower which was founded in the 6th Century, the early buildings were destroyed by Vikings, the present structure dates from the 12th century.
